# DateTime Fields

### Introduction

Just like the name says, a DateTime field is where you can pick both a date and a time. If you need to know the time along with the date, this is the field type to use. It's more detailed than a Date field.

### Steps to create a DateTime field

Provide a **Name** and **Description** of your formula field. You can also include helpful instructions to guide the user using **Help Text**. Simply enable the check box “**Display Help as HTML**” to display the help text in HTML format.

- Select **DateTime** as **Field** **Type.**
- If it's a must-have field, enable the **"Required"** box.
- There are two ways to set a **default value**. You can either pick a date and time using a calendar picker or set it as the date when the object is being created by enabling the checkbox **"Date of Object Creation".**
- Click on **Create** button**.**
